Contact Details
Jenny practises from the York Human Givens Wellbeing Centre which she jointly set up with Gail Rhodes in 2010 and co-ran until 2022. She continues to run her practice there, on a slightly reduced basis. She has been working from the Human Givens approach since 2008. She is also a trained bereavement counsellor and worked in a voluntary bereavement support team for several years in a hospice. Prior to that she was a secondary school English teacher and then an editor for many years in Zimbabwe where she grew up.
Over the years, Jenny has worked with a wide variety of clients with many differing challenges, including acute and ongoing stress, anxiety and depression, trauma, addiction, eating disorders and relationship issues. She also particularly enjoys working with clients who simply want to manage their lives better and are looking for new strategies to do this as quickly and effectively as possible. The creative and practical ideas in the Human Givens Approach provide the ideal framework for this. She has the firm belief that emotional wellbeing comes through discovering, using and developing your own strengths, managing your responses through learning to keep calm and think clearly, and taking back control where you can so that you can do the things that you need to as well as the things that you love.
Jenny currently works with clients aged 16 and above.
She is also an accredited supervisor with the Human Givens Institute and has provided supervision for both HG therapists and other health professionals for many years.
Although Jenny works primarily from the York Human Givens Wellbeing Centre where there is a team of therapists, she is also able to offer home visits under special circumstances. She also offers online sessions where practical and appropriate.
