New Human Givens College educational programme is launched

On the 1st September, after an incredible amount of effort by numerous people in a short space of time, the new Human Givens College website and initial training programme was launched.

Many of you who value the human givens approach have kindly offered to help support the continuation of HG training after MindFields College closed. You did so in the shared belief that an HG understanding is vital for improving not only mental health care and the wellbeing of the vulnerable, but also the education of our children and the quality of life in general. We need all of you to rally round now.

The most help you could give us is to encourage a colleague or friend to book on to one of these events so we can generate enough revenue to extend the teaching next year and beyond. For the time being the website is the sole means we have of offering our programme. Please pass the website address (www.humangivenscollege.com) on to anyone you know who would be interested in doing any of the new courses.

All of the topics necessary to complete the Human Givens Diploma are covered on the new one- and two-day courses (some of which are now at weekends). There are also some interesting new topics that we hope will appeal to you all, as well as to a wider audience.

Part 1 of the Diploma has slightly changed (read more), but anyone who was working towards their HG qualification can now complete their training. All previously attended MindFields College seminars and workshops count as accredited prior learning. (Those already booked onto the MA Programme in Human Givens Psychotherapy with Nottingham Trent University will also be able to continue their training as the NTU will be working alongside the new college.)

2010 HGI Conference – everybody welcome

Once again, the HGI's conference, which is on 6th–7th November, is being held at beautiful Sunningdale Park. The theme of this year's conference is Relationships—the human givens perspective.

We are delighted that Dr Aric Sigman has agreed to be this year's Guest Speaker and his no doubt fascinating talk will be on: 'Relationships and the media'. In addition, we are very pleased to welcome the Canadian diplomat John Bell who will also be sharing his extensive knowledge with us as he discusses the important role of the human givens in Middle-East negotiations.

Various other speakers will continue to explore the key theme from a number of angles, some of which include:

The cost is £285.00 per delegate which includes attendance at both days with lunch, a Saturday evening dinner, tea/coffee at each break and conference materials. (There is accommodation available at Sunningdale Park which can be booked separately direct or via lastminute.com.)
