Further Information:

Christine completed the Human Givens Diploma in February 2008 followed by a placement at MIND where she saw clients from a wide range of backgrounds, with many different problems, using the CORE evaluation to confirm effectiveness.

The Human Givens approach is a bespoke innovative method which helps people understand their unmet needs, empowering them to develop their own resources, so they are better equipped to resolve their current problems and deal with any difficult life events that may arise in the future, Most people can be helped in 4 to 6 sessions, sometimes less.

Effective therapy always depends on how attuned the therapist is to the client and for that reason Christine offers a 15 minute introductory meeting for £10 if you wish to establish there is an appropriate rapport before committing to a full counselling session.

Many problems such as anger, depression, low self esteem, excessive anxiety and relationship issues may be related to past events and there are specific techniques which are usually very effective, particularly for panic attacks, effects of childhood abuse and PTSD. Enabling people to leave their past behind (if relevant) is part of the process which helps clarify what they want to achieve, as well as giving them the confidence to do whatever is needed.

COUPLES COUNSELLING
The ideal couple support and help each other to reach their full potential and if this is not happening one or both usually become unhappy with the relationship. Current research suggests there are differences between the male and female brain which affect how we think, respond and communicate. These differences often cause misunderstandings and developing a deeper appreciation of each otherÕs needs is usually very effective, helping to create a constructive dialogue, whereby problems can be discussed and resolved.

BACKGROUND
After training as a Registered Nurse Christine travelled and worked in America and Australia and has always been interested in the link between physical, emotional and social well-being. On returning to England she qualified in Occupational Health working in a corporate environment, advising employees on physical and emotional health, running workshops for managers on self development and helping them with work/life balance in an increasingly pressured work environment.

Counselling has always been a major part of her role and she currently works part-time for the CRUSE bereavement service and in palliative care.

Her private practice is in Shepperton approximately 20 mins drive from Richmond and 5 mins from the M3, Junction1 - parking available.
The nearest BR station is Upper Halliford - Waterloo to Shepperton line
