Ideas about the nature of reality for you to share
A number of you suggested that Joe Griffin and Ivan Tyrrell should have an authors' website to stimulate world-wide interest in their work and human givens ideas. So, to coincide with the launch of their new book, Godhead: The Brain’s Big Bang (about the explosive origin of creativity, mysticism and mental illness), they have created one. On it you can read the book’s contents and its introduction (called the Curtain Raiser).

HGI board meeting
The new Human Givens Institute board has now had its 2nd meeting and is making progress with issues that arose from the first. This includes developing Online Training and improving HG web presence, securing the future of the journal now it can no longer be subsidised, work on supervision and participating in CHRE meetings (the body
that is charged with setting up the "assured voluntary registration" scheme preferred by the government) to address concerns about ‘accreditation’.
Please channel ideas and offers of help to the board through Ros Jeal.

Human Givens Foundation – what is it and how can you help?
The Human Givens Foundation (HGF) was set up to support a psychological/social regeneration programme based on up-to-date knowledge of human nature, of what people need in order to thrive. The HGF fosters initiatives by those endeavouring apply this knowledge in practical ways, particularly in fields where developing life skills is vital, such as in parenting, education, psychotherapy, health, social work, industrial relations and diplomacy.
The HGF is regularly approached by people seeking financial support for their projects, for example to run HG based courses in their local communities. All support is conditional upon good before and after type feedback, which is useful for both checking and promoting the effectiveness of endeavours that take a human givens approach. Most recently we have agreed to assist the following projects:
-
A 12-week 'Just What We Need' course for parents to be run in Bristol by BRIC (Building Relations in the Community)
-
A 12-week 'Just What We Need' course for parents to be run in North London by the Ignite Trust
Normally, the HGF offers 50% of the running costs but gives more, if it can, where necessary. If you would like to help the HGF with this aspect of its work, or you have some ideas for raising funds, please click here for more information.
Thanks,
The HGF Trustees
