After starting out as a secondary school English teacher, I then spent many years as an editor/writer in Zimbabwe where I grew up. After moving to the UK in 2000, I pursued a long-standing interest in psychotherapy and counselling when I encountered the human givens approach. It is exciting and rewarding to be working from such a positive approach, which deals so effectively and quickly with trauma and which really encourages people to rediscover and use their own resources to overcome difficulties. I am passionate about helping people to develop the skills and strategies which will allow them to maintain mental health and well being.
 
I have a special concern for those with bereavement difficulties, and am part of a voluntary bereavement support team at a local hospice.
 
I practise from The Clinic on the Green in York which is within walking distance of the city centre, and am also prepared to see people in their homes should this be necessary. I have CRB clearance.
