I have been involved in counselling in since doing a volunteer placement during my Honours degree in Psychology, although I have recently been working on a research project on adult safeguarding at the University of Cambridge. Previously, I supported victims of abuse practically and emotionally for six years, as well as psychologically for three years, through individual counselling and group work. I am constantly amazed at the strength and creative resilience that we, as human beings, show in the face of adversity. This forms the basis for the work that my clients and I do together, mobilising each unique set of individual skills, strengths and resources to move forward positively to better mental health. Measures used in therapy show that my clients achieve, on average, significant change for the better.
