About me
Hello! Thank you for visiting my page and a warm welcome to my profile.
I’m an experienced Counsellor & Psychotherapist and have a passion for helping people; that may be resolving a historic issue that you’ve never spoken about, working through a life change or crisis, overcoming something that is holding you back, or simply talking to someone neutral, perhaps being truly heard for the first time.
I’ve worked with a wide range of mental health difficulties both in clinical settings and private practice; these have included anxiety & depression, bereavement & loss, trauma & PTSD, low self-esteem, cancer recovery & diagnoses, workplace stress and life changes. I specialise in and have a passion for helping those struggling with addiction, particularly for families and friends affected by a loved one’s often complex problems where there’s often very little specialist support.
I work with compassion, kindness and importantly no judgement, regardless of the circumstances. I provide a forum to express and process emotional distress, explore approaches, treatments or options, and a plan. Importantly I aim for you to feel hopeful and supported. Sessions are held gently with empathy and at a pace that works for you with the aim that you leave feeling listened to and optimistic.
Getting help:
Taking that first step to get support can feel really daunting, particularly if you have been coping with a difficulty for a long time or have never spoken about an experience that is now troubling you. Many people come into therapy for the first time not knowing quite what to expect – my approach is very ‘human’! Therapy is very much tailored towards your circumstances, your emotional needs and importantly, what you want to achieve by working with me. I offer a free initial chat over the phone so you can decide if I’m the right person to work with you; we work together so it’s important you feel comfortable with me!
I offer both face to face and virtual sessions (although I don’t offer the Rewind virtually). My face to face time is split between London, Kent and Brighton (Brighton specifically being substance misuse). I have the privilege of working with military personnel and veterans and offer concessions to students, NHS workers and teachers. I am a member of the Human Givens Institute and as such I am bound by a strict code of ethics and receive regular supervision. I am fully insured and have enhanced DBS clearance.

Testimonials
I started therapy with Fiona about 5 months ago after a tough breakup and while struggling with substance abuse. I’d considered therapy before but never found the motivation to actually go through with it until things got a bit too much for me to be able to just fix on my own. I’m grateful for coming across Fiona as her positive attitude and practical, solutions-based advice gave me the hope and confidence to take back control and start making small changes. I used to think therapy was just about having a safe space to voice your thoughts and feelings but Fiona’s sessions are more than that - she not only listens carefully to what’s going on for you at the time but also encourages you to consider a different perspective and gives you practical tools to manage your issues in a healthy, self-compassionate and realistic way. A few months later and I feel a lot more in touch with my real self and able to better deal with unhealthy thoughts, feelings and urges. Fiona was a big part of that journey.
I am so grateful for the transformative support and guidance I have received from Fiona on my journey of healing from PTSD. Her approach has been marked by an incredible warmth, a wonderful sense of humour, and a non-judgmental attitude that immediately put me at ease. From the very beginning, Fiona demonstrated a proactive and compassionate style, introducing me to techniques that have been pivotal in managing my PTSD. Her remarkable insight, expertise and gentle encouragement have empowered me to break free from the fear cycle that I had been trapped in for so long as a partner of an addict. I wholeheartedly recommend Fiona to anyone seeking a therapist who embodies empathy, skill, and an exceptional ability to foster genuine healing. She has profoundly impacted my life, and I am forever grateful for her guidance and support.
Fiona’s kind and patient manner enabled me to come to terms with a particularly difficult life event. Her realistic approach to life made me feel comfortable to completely open up and her encouragement and listening ear gave me the strength and positivity with which I am able to address the things in my life which I was desperately struggling with. Her reassurance when I have felt less confident has enabled me to find my way. Fiona provided me with the perfect tools I needed to overcome my hurdles, which I now believe is possible
