About me

As a solutions focused brief therapist my clients are usually looking for fast, effective results to issues that are blocking their ability to get on with their lives. Each client is unique and therefore given the time and space to resolve their personal challenges effectively, whatever the root of that issue.

I balance working in private practice as a registered counsellor psychotherapist, with my business client work in people development.

I believe myself to be a highly engaging and focused individual. I have 22 years of clinical and therapeutic experience that started with practicing traditional chinese medicine and owning a multi-disciplinary health clinic, culminating in qualifying as a Human Givens Psychotherapist in 2012. For 17 years I was as an Associate Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University, with a focus on business strategy & change management. In addition I have also been a member of the Human Givens RPSC (Registration and Professional Standards Committee), spent 5 years as a Director Trustee of the NCA College in York where I also taught Ethics as a guest lecturer.

Qualifications

Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy (Distinction) - HGDipP

Testimonials

“Lance inspires trust. He quickly creates a relationship with his clients that allows open and frank dialogue to take place. Bringing a wealth of both personal and business experience to the table. Lance is able to add value in resolving predicaments and, at the same time challenge the habitual thinking that perhaps created it in the first place”

Clare (Retired Business Executive), Chichester

“Lance has a clear and focused style, able to identify the root issue and articulate it simply, remaining calm whilst holding the space. He has a gentle humour that takes the heaviness out of those difficult conversations or crisis enabling the issue to be looked at objectively with no judgement”

Fiona (Business Consultant), Rutland
