About me

I am committed to making a difference for people whose emotions have taken control of their lives in unhelpful ways. I work with you to find the root of unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. We will identify the causes and impact of difficult experiences and develop ways to manage emotions and compensating behaviours. As a HG therapist I aim to make a difference to the way you feel from the first session.

I am an experienced therapist who enables young people and adults to recover from life’s challenges and especially from traumatic events. Using the rewind technique I have seen many, many clients move on from stormy waters to peaceful calm.

Lockdown has had a major impact on manhy people’s perception of safety, with redtulting anxieties and possibly depression. I aim to help them understand what is happening to them and develop a toolkit of skills and knowledge so that they are equipped to help themselves and those they care about in the future.

Before we start a course of therapy we will have a phone call that will enable you to get to know me a bit and decide whether I sound like the right person for you.

I believe that working online is effective because my client is in a familiar environment without the stress of a journey to meet with me. I have a library of resources that we can share in the session and then they receive copies to review and use in the future.

As a former teacher and youth worker, I recognise the issues that young people are facing today from social media, in education and from lockdown. I am able to help them develop an understanding of the mental health spectrum and thrive in spite of these stressors.

In addition, I have trained many professionals to work from a mental health perspective and with a trauma informed approach to make a difference in the lives of young people who are finding life difficult. I enjoy training and am happy to explore with you any ideas you have for a group session.

Testimonials

“I was at the bottom of a dark hole, I couldn’t see the light at all. With kindness and patience Lynne helped me to find the rope and shone a light down for me. As I began to climb, she offered encouragement. Lynne truly heard what I was saying and met me at the dark place I was in. The practical tools she has provided will enable me to continue to help myself which I believe is one of the most important and empowering things a therapist can do. Thank you so much for listening Lynne, I really appreciate you.”

AC paramedic

"Lynne is an excellent, empathetic therapist who quickly identified and helped me overcome my anxieties and move forward with positivity."

SK, teacher

"I had a traumatic childhood that resulted in PTSD. Lynne worked gently and patiently with me until I was able to cope with adult life. I will always consider her an angel!"

DH, Librarian

"We are very grateful for the session our daughter had with Lynne, it really helped her."

Parent of EN, 14, bullied.

"I went to see Lynne for addiction therapy and she was the first person I have seen who delved into my past to diagnose the problem. She helped me find the reason for it and set me free using a rewind. Then we developed a programme for moving forwards that I understood and valued. I feel free for the first time in years."

JR, business owner.
