Vacancy for lay member on HGI’s complaints panel

Human givens practitioners always do their best to help their clients. Sometimes, however, someone may feel dissatisfied and want to make a complaint. In cases that cannot be resolved informally the HGI’s Registration and Professional Standards Committee (RPSC), which deals with complaints, may need to convene a panel to hear and decide on any alleged breaches of our code of conduct and ethics. The panel comprises two therapists and one lay member (all voluntary roles) and we are currently have a vacancy for the lay member.

Sitting on the panel offers a unique insight into the workings of complaints processes and the ability to have influence where it matters. Are you someone interested in HG who has the time and the interest to get involved and can bring independence, experience and reflectivity to the panel’s deliberations? Do you think you have the skills to listen carefully to evidence provided, assess it and make an objective determination? If the answer is yes, we would be grateful if you would contact Andy Tarrant at rpsc@hgi.org.uk for more information. Training will be provided. We particularly welcome applications from any under-represented groups to ensure the wider diversity of the panel.
