Taking on new supervisees

About me

I’ve been a therapist for over 30 years, and I work in collaboration with trainees and supervisees to support, encourage and learn. Also, I coordinate a very supportive face-to-face peer supervision group in Central London.

I have a wealth of experience helping other therapists to build successful private practices, and to reach their full potential.

Testimonials

John runs a tight ship, and this means that when you are with him, he is fully there. He cares that you learn to be a truly effective therapist, he supervises, and at the same time he encourages and inspires. You can feel the experience behind his responses and advice and this contributes immensely to easy communication, from supervisor to supervisee, and in turn to the client. His guidance instills confidence and clarity.

Recently qualified on Part 3

John is enormously supportive, and his experience clearly shows. If I'm struggling to find a solution he makes it feel as though it was my idea...

I consider myself lucky to have John Halker as my supervisor. His wealth of experience in all that is HG, and so much more, means I feel in safe hands when presenting my caseload.
John has a great, creative way of stretching you developmentally without any pressure, gently reminding to always be reflective and keep learning.
John is supremely calm and considered and I always come away from a session feeling wiser and more able to deal with the challenges I had presented.
John has the perfect balance of professionalism, wisdom, sense of humour and compassion. Everything you need in a supervisor.
