About me

My broad range of experience gives me an understanding of the many stresses that can be in our lives and an open minded attitude towards the ways people have coped with these.

This experience ranges from over 12 years managing a project working with people affected by homelessness, developing and delivering workshops and courses for mentoring, coaching and getting back into work; learning the craft of Stand Up (very scary!); being a director of two social enterprises; providing business consultancy to creative businesses; providing arts project management with museum and galleries in the South; training as a youth worker; project managing youth audience development for performing art centres and training as an artist.

My approach is practical and collaborative, working together for the best results, it uses assessment tools so that progress is measurable and is cost effective, using as few sessions as possible. In a therapy session, there is no expectation for clients to talk about previous bad experience – research shows this can make the situation worse. If there is trauma present it can be relieved very quickly (often within one session). My aim is to help the client to move forward into positive experiences immediately.

Testimonials

"Having the opportunity to talk to you, a person of true humanity, kindness and insight, has been enormously helpful to me. I’ve been in a dark place, probably the darkest of my life, and you have helped me see a way towards a bright future. Thank you. "

Client whose wife suddenly suffered life changing brain damage.

"I really felt so adrift and sad, when I came to see you at the end of the summer, and I can’t believe the change that has occurred. I feel so much calmer, and more centred, and the stuff which I wasn’t really aware was blocking my path, seems to have melted away. I am much much less angry, and feel more confident in myself. I have had SO much therapy over the years – first when I was 14 – so over 30 years, and nothing has had such a profound impact as the work I have done with you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart – I can’t say I feel like the “old” me because I’m sure she was fairly cross and anxious, but I honestly feel like this is the person I am meant to be! I have been stuck for so long, I honestly don’t think I have the words to describe how lighter I feel – my husband is fairly surprised by it all too!! so thank you again. "

Client with high levels of anxiety.

"I am most grateful to the recent sessions that I have undertaken with you. I had a dramatic life changing set of circumstances 12 years ago that has caused me to withdraw and hindered my communication skills and affected my close relationships. At times it’s been very tough for those closest to me since my brain has felt full and compromised for years.
As a result of the four sessions we have done I feel great. More importantly those closest to me feel it’s been great for me and them. I feel freed up, full of energy, able to take things on and able now to fully engage. I feel the future looks very bright. ‘Everyone needs a Bunty in their life’"

Client with depression.

"Thank you for all your support and help over these past few months. You have bought us back together, made me look at myself and things differently and helped us form a whole new relationship, for which I will always be grateful for. You've helped us both end our story, walking together in the sand - you truly are amazing!!!"

Client receiving couples counselling due to infidelity and poor communication.

"I no longer feel burdened, beset by mental fog nor triggered by everyday events and quick to anger. I am living much more in the here and now, able to be courageously creative and connect with other folks. My home and work lives are much more fun, happier and fulfilling. It is a kind and holistic process that doesn’t rehash the bad stuff but finds ways to put it aside and help us move forward. It helps us to work out what we need and then find it with support and feedback. I wish that I had had the benefit earlier in life but am incredibly thankful to have benefitted as I move into elder-hood and support younger generations."
