Retired Membership

We recognise the valuable experience accumulated by practitioners over the course of their careers. This category offers members who are no longer in professional practice the opportunity to retain a professional connection with the Institute and an active role within it. For example, retired members could choose to retain an active role in peer supervision groups.

Eligibility

Retired Membership is open to anyone who has previously qualified and practised as a registered, accredited or senior accredited member of the HGI.

• Invites to attend special one-off HGI CPD events
• The chance to play a fuller part in promoting HG ideas and practice by putting yourself forward to sit on one of our committees, when an appropriate vacancy arises
• Certificate of retired membership (renewed annually)

N.B. As a retired member, you will not be required to maintain your former practice-related insurance, will not be able to practise as an HG therapist or supervisor, and will not be listed on the HG practitioner/supervisor register.

Retired membership of the HGI enables you to retain and continue to develop professional collegial relationships within the institute’s professional spaces and forums and to contribute actively to the work of the institute, if you choose to do so, keeping up to date with developments in the teaching and practice of human givens and helping to inspire our next generation of therapists. In order to register as a retired member and remain involved in this way you will need to confirm that you agree to:

• Uphold HGI ethical standards
• Abide by HGI professional conduct policy

Annual Fee

The annual fee for Retired Membership of the HGI is £60.00.

How to join

If you would like to become an Retired Member of the HGI, please call our office on +44 (0)1323 811662 (Mon-Fri 9.00am–5.30pm GMT) with your name, address and credit/debit card details, or download and complete the application form below. Payment can be made by online bank transfer, standing order or with a credit/debit card.

Simply email the completed form to us at membership@hgi.org.uk or post a printed copy to: The Human Givens Institute, Chalvington, East Sussex, BN27 3TD, UK.

Processing applications

All applications received will be acknowledged and processed as soon as possible. Once your application has been processed you will receive your login details for the HGI website’s Members Area, your HGI Retired membership logo and certificate.

Change of Address

If you change your name, postal or email address please let the Institute know at once so that you will continue to receive the newsletter and any other relevant information.
