About me

I am a Human Givens Psychotherapist. I have a private practice whereby I work with clients on a one to one basis to improve their mental health. I work both face to face and online. In addition, I work with schools and various businesses to educate and inform people about mental health and give practical guidance and advice as to how to solve problems such as anxiety, depression, exam stress and school avoidance.

I’ve spent over two decades working in schools, both in the UK and overseas, predominantly as a Head of History and Politics. However, after COVID the decline in peoples’ mental health was staggering and I wanted to be part of the solution. These vibrant, incredibly resilient young people I’d spent my entire career working with need to know how to cope with modern life and have tools and strategies to be able to thrive in this ever more complex world.

For me, teaching was always incredibly rewarding as I got to watch young people grow, develop, find their feet and head out into the world. However now, with psychotherapy, I feel like the impact is even more impressive as I see people during our first session, often feeling lost, hopeless and overwhelmed and within a very short time frame they revert back to the joyful, hopeful person they once were, or become an even better version of themselves, ready to take up their place in the world again.

Everyone’s story is different and everyone needs support and guidance which is tailored to their individual needs. This core belief has always been at the heart of how I work.

Testimonials

"I can't say enough good things about having therapy with Stacey. From the very first session, she made me feel comfortable with her warm, empathetic approach. Even when I found it hard to open up, she made the process feel natural and safe. I was going through a really tough time, and she not only listened but genuinely understood what I was going through. Her guidance helped me navigate one of the hardest periods of my life, and I always felt supported and cared for. I'm incredibly grateful for having her help me."

(Rachel, Leicestershire)

“Stacey has made a massive impact on my life. She has helped bolster my confidence to aim for the jobs I want to have. My self-esteem has increased hugely; and I am now starting in a job that I’m going to enjoy. I would recommend her wholeheartedly.”

(Ben, Melton Mowbray)

“I was referred to Stacey to help with grief, depression and anxiety. Stacey is softly spoken and she helped me to relax and slow my breathing down. The guided imagery sent me to somewhere deep and helped me deal with my grief, motivation and confidence. The guided imagery was so relaxing and refreshing.”

(Matt, Leicestershire)
