About me
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, stressed or like you’ve lost the joy and motivation you used to have, then let’s talk.
Maybe sleep is eluding you, or you’re finding intrusive thoughts, anxiety and depression are regularly showing up? Perhaps activities you used to love – no longer bring you joy? It might be that life has thrown you a curveball and knocked you off balance, or you’re coping with longer term challenges and it’s wearing you down. Let’s talk.
My approach is practical and pragmatic. Together we can co-create a plan to get you back on track, using tried and tested counselling therapy and tools to support your Human Needs.
As well as being a counsellor and psychotherapist, I’ve got a background in NLP, and I even train others to NLP Master Practitioner Level. Since 1997, I’ve been self-employed as a trainer, coach and more recently, psychotherapist.
I enjoy working one-to-one with individuals and groups – I work for a number of organisations too – providing mental health training, stress management and coaching to support their teams. (And if all this is sounding a little too serious – then it might be time to share that I am also a Laughter Yoga Teacher).
SLEEP: I’m a member of the British Sleep Society and offer sleep training in organisations or one to one.
ONLINE: I work from my home office in South Devon, and I offer sessions via Zoom or Skype. This means wherever you are in the UK, I can offer convenient and accessible therapy.
IN-PERSON: Because of the convenience and ease of online counselling for clients, I rarely see clients face-to-face. However, if essential, I can see occasional clients, by arrangement, at a local practice room (There may be a small additional fee for room hire).
HOURS: I normally work 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, however, I do see a small number of clients outside these hours.
CLIENTS: I work with adults aged 18+ and I have a clear DBS disclosure.
To get in touch: You can email, text or phone (leave a voicemail) at any time 07772 333001 or [email protected]
My website is: www.suehaswell.co.uk
LET’S CHAT FIRST: I offer a free, no obligation, short introduction call or online meeting, up to 15 minutes, so you can ask questions and find out how we can work together best. Just give me a ring to arrange, or email me: [email protected]

Testimonials
“Thank you so much for being a wonderful therapist and coach to me. Thanks to you I have worked out what was holding me back, where I need to be and how to get there… and now I’m delighted to say I have arrived!”
I just wanted to say a big thank you for the best therapy I have ever had. I came to you full of anxiety, fear and childhood trauma, which was preventing me from living a full life.
I was struggling to sleep and have self confidence. Instantly, you to got to know me, what the issues were, and identified calming tools that would help me, the breathing tools were the thing that instantly helped to ground me .
You got to the root cause, while helping me not to relive the pain. You helped to build my confidence to say no, to do self care and to trust my instincts, you helped to be connect with my community and to accept who I am. You got me through a massive presentation, by helping me to breath, think positive and believe in myself.
Your personality, and directness is something I value and learned from. You have completely changed my life, I am happier, more settled and use the tools everyday. I fast forward to rough times, and move forward. I have stopped putting so much pressure on myself, and learned to let go of the stress and other peoples issues which were affecting me. Finding my happy place, helps to get through things, I have often visited that place in recent weeks. This has helped me in my personal life, work-life and of course my marriage and parenting. I can’t thank you enough Sue.
I have had a severe needle phobia for over seven years and haven’t had any sort of injection or vaccine in longer than that. The thought of having a jab terrified me so much so that I would faint at the sight of a needle.
However, the pandemic forced me to try to resolve this – so I went to Sue. I had four sessions of hypnotherapy with Sue, which she tailored to my specific phobia.
It was all such a positive experience, and Sue could not have been more kind, flexible, understanding or willing to help.
After only these four sessions I was able to have my first vaccine, and through the techniques Sue taught me was able to remain so calm that I wasn’t at all scared – something I never thought I would be able to say.
I genuinely believe that if Sue can help me, she can help anyone overcome any fear. I am beyond grateful and cannot recommend her services highly enough.
AMAZING!!! I have used other therapists to help me overcome my fear of falling but with limited success. However, Sue has an incredible technique and calmly talked me through each stage, so that I felt wholly immersed in the session with complete trust in her skills.
I experienced a great sense of “release” afterwards in removing a burden which had been preventing me from moving forward.
