About me
You are not alone; no one travels through life without encountering emotional distress, modern life is complex, and the world we all live in, can be overwhelming at times.
I work with men and women who are suffering from anxiety or depression. These two conditions are often found together, as anxiety can keep you from having the life you truly want, leading to depression.
Choosing the right therapist to help you can be difficult, not all therapists will understand the particular emotional health issues that you are dealing with.
Most of my clients come to me for help with problems that usually fall into one of the following categories: relationships-employment-family, or a general dissatisfaction with the direction their lives are taking.
Prior to becoming a therapist 15 years ago, I was a senior international executive and have lived and worked in Africa, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Continental Europe, and the USA.
Due to my own life’s journey, I have acquired a great deal of multi-cultural understanding, that has proven to be beneficial when working with clients from London’s diverse international population.

I have worked with several therapists, but I can say, that with Barry I feel like a friend, a friend, who really cares about me and is always eager to help. I know that he is a kind person, intelligent and has much experience and led an interesting life. He is helping me with my OCD, anxiety, and depression. I am from Ukraine, and I am a woman, of course, every country has a different mentality, but I believe, that Barry can work with people from different countries and cultures, he has travelled a lot and has many stories to tell. He has been helping me for more than a year. I always feel that he is near, though we are many kilometres from each other. He is happy when I have good news and cares and helps me when I am sad. He cares like he is a relative, like a father. Many people do not believe in psychology, but I know that it helps, and I know that Barry has chosen this profession, because he wants to help people, to help them to go forward in this complicated life. Thank you, Barry, for coming into my life and being supportive, always.
I am a highly sensitive young man, and I have worked with Barry for about two years. As a civilian dealing with unemployment, depression, and a career change during the war in Ukraine, we had plenty to discuss. Barry relied on humour, anecdotes, stoicism- and mindfulness-based practices, as well as colourful metaphors to provide support, kindness, and practical life advice that helped me navigate several personal and family issues. As a therapist, Barry is more rugged and empirical than academic or psychoanalytic. You can expect an emphasis on practical, straightforward solutions. Overall, I would call it effective. I believe that I benefited from his life coaching, which helped me track goals and stay focused on what mattered the most. He is also a good coach for matters related to corporate and professional areas of life.
Due to his cosmopolitan life experiences, Barry is adept at relating to people from a wide range of cultures, religions, professions, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I also recommend him to men who could benefit from an older male role model.
Knowing there was someone kind, wise, and competent to whom I could turn for advice helped me survive some tough times.
