About me

Doreen helps people discover what is missing in their lives and aims to empower people to take back control using a solution-focused approach. This may involve dealing with trauma, learning new coping strategies or relationship skills, learning how to change addictive behaviours, regulate emotions or challenge thinking styles.

Doreen’s professional background was in mental health in UK, both as a Senior Social Worker and as a manager with Mind. Doreen’s previous career also includes work in the voluntary sector with young people in the care system, young offenders and homeless people. Doreen’s life experience has been invaluably enriched by 8 years living and working in African and Asian countries in various community projects and health settings.

Testimonials

(bank worker, victim of sexual assault)

(bank worker, victim of sexual assault)

"I enjoyed the calming nature of my therapist. She gave me good insight into why things might be problems for me but also provided remedies for them. I felt listened to, no matter how big or small my issue was."

(22 year old male, depression)

"Doreen understood from the onset of our conversation my needs. She was realistic and honest. I never had therapy before and Doreen made me feel so relaxed and safe in the sessions. She has also given me great strategies to use to help me going forward"

(retired female, family member with addiction issues)

"Just to let you know I had a much better nights sleep last night. I put your meditation on when I went to bed and fell asleep listening to it. I then woke up a few times but was able to control my brain and stop it waking up too much- I kept thinking of your words..."

(18 year old student, anxiety)

"My counselling sessions were extremely positive and of huge benefit. The guidance and tools Doreen has given me to navigate through stress and trauma has really improved my day to day life"
