About me
Positive change is a counselling and coaching practice in Leicestershire helping people establish a permanent, positive change so that they can enjoy life with a genuine feeling of confidence and accomplishment.
My focus is to establish that change whilst reducing your need for unnecessary or lengthy treatments by supporting individual explorations and understanding that facilitate personal change and growth.
I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Givens Psychotherapy and a foundation degree in Integrative counselling, and am experienced in a range of coaching and HG counselling techniques that can be tailored to meet the diverse requirements of emotional distress and personal difficulties. Additionally over a decade of experience as a CMI accredited coach enables me to support you as you find your way to a new way of being.
I have over 20 years of change management experience in the Automotive Industry prior to working as a therapist and have been involved in coaching and counselling since 2015. I have spent 4 years volunteering with Samaritans of Leicester providing support to those experiencing emotional distress and thoughts of suicide, and also work for a local voluntary sector charity providing specialist trauma counselling to survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
I am a registered data handler with the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) and hold an enhanced DBS certificate. I takes referrals from the NHS and EAPs (Employee Assistance Programmes)

Testimonials
After months of feeling low and confused I decided to try counselling! Kat Marlow was kind and professional. She helped me untangle my confused mind and see things clearly. She taught me to be brave despite my fears and leave the past failures behind. It has been more than a year and I am the happiest I could be, I feel I am much closer to the person I have ever wanted to be. I have made the right decision, gone back to university and now have the job I love.
Thank you Kat for reminding me of my dreams and teaching me to love myself again.
I have suffered from depression since I was twenty two and I am sixty five now, in that time I have seen may people who have tried to help me. Kat treats you as a person and not a medical problem, and you feel like you are talking to your best friend about your problems. Kat explained why you brain does what it does in depression and how coping methods work and will given time help you get back to normal. She is friendly, emphatic and understands the problem from your point of view. In a sea of desperation she is a island of hope!
Kat is fantastic at what she does, she has really helped me to overcome anxiety and is highly trained and educated in her field to help you to understand the science behind our brains and why we react/feel certain ways - which makes you feel a lot less strange and more positive! I would highly recommend kat to anyone :)
I have had the pleasure of using Kat's services I found that this has really helped me progress. It has changed my out look on life.
