Taking on new supervisees

About me

Finding the right supervisor to support you in your practice and your on-going learning is key. As a trained and experienced HG therapist I’m collaborative, will always work at your pace and listen and plan out what is needed together with you.

It’s important to have the sense of practical input, while still discovering solutions for yourself, and for you to work with someone who is experienced in meeting challenges and will listen to you. And when needed to be met with honesty and support for you, your practice and to have clarity on where you are in your training and growth. If you are a trainee or are newly qualified, you can consider me to be your mentor, tutor, ethics adviser and supporter. My ambition for you would be to help you grow in confidence, self awareness and skill level.

We can structure your sessions together so you can securely and confidently climb to the next rung of the ladder at your pace and in whatever shape or form you choose. I can remind you, tutor you, encourage you on all you have learned and offer you clarity where needed. I have forty years successful experience in the commercial world so I can help you plan your business also.

I am excited to help you embed your recent learning and answer any tuition or protocol questions you may have and if required help you see and be excited about applying your learning in a practical way.

For my more experienced peers, as a fellow HG therapist we can have more in-depth discussion of complex cases or practice challenges that you may face along the way. And occasionally revisit some of the basics if you would like.

The testimonials below will show what other HG therapists have experienced in supervision with me.

I would encourage an initial conversation for us at no charge so you can be sure we are a good fit. Please just email me and we can chat or if you would like to book a session with me that’s fine too!

In my private practice and through my work with PTSD Resolution, Red Poppy and Big Moose, I am experienced in working with all forms of emotional distress and the ethics and challenges involved.

Testimonials

Thank you for a very supportive and helpful Supervision. You were relaxed, welcoming and warm right from the start which put me at ease and inspired confidence. Giving more space to explore and feel the emotion is my big takeaway.

I felt your confidence in your mastery and application of the technique but also enjoyed the space, time and safety you described creating to allow your clients to process their feeling experience. You listened and you made observations they were encouraging and insightful.

It was affirming to hear how much our thinking chimed and to hear your endorsement of my strategies but you also brought in new insights to incorporate into my thinking. Your empathy and liking for my clients affirmed my sense of how much they have achieved and how far they have come in spite of adverse starts in life. It was a pleasure to share their growth and see that reflected back so warmly.

I felt met and given autonomy and support for my learning. I enjoyed our session and left it feeling encouraged and endorsed by someone whose opinion I respect and value highly.

Experienced Human Givens Therapist

I really enjoyed our supervision, I experienced you as warm, grounded and genuinely interested in both me and my client, and I felt very heard and not judged. That safety made it easy for me to be open about feeling the weight and complexity of this work, rather than feeling I had to present as if I had everything “sorted”.

You were very affirming about the work I’ve already done with this client, and at the same time, added a lot of helpful depth to my thinking in a very Human Givens way. The session was also very practically helpful. You offered clear, usable ideas I can translate straight into my work. Your suggestions felt very aligned with Human Givens principles and gave me a sense of “I know what to do next,” rather than feeling overwhelmed.
I also appreciated that you held a strong focus on safety, boundaries and the wider system. This was very containing for me personally. It helped me feel I’m part of a wider picture and that it’s appropriate, and necessary, to share the load, rather than trying to manage everything on my own.

Most importantly, you kept my wellbeing firmly in view. You recognised the emotional pressure of holding a complex, high‑risk client, normalised my mixed feelings and anxieties, and reminded me that supervision is a space for me as well as for thinking about the client. That in itself was very reassuring and made the whole session feel positive, safe and strengthening.

Relaxed and useful. I felt comfortable and the session was very appropriately conversational. It was very helpful to share your own experiences. This is both reassuring and validating.
