Originally qualifying as an NNEB Nursery Nurse, I have worked in the field of child development, behaviour and family support, in both local authority and NHS settings with adults and children for over 30 years. I am currently based in an NHS Community setting in Surrey.
During this time, I have trained in and delivered nationally recognised Positive Parenting courses to hundreds of parents from a range of backgrounds.
I developed and delivered talks and workshops to parents, grandparents and childminders on topics such as infant attachment/babies brain development, managing behaviour, what children need to thrive and many others.
Also, I developed and delivered relaxation, craft and support groups for women living with domestic abuse, family breakdown, substance misuse, financial hardship or similar difficulties offering them much needed space to relax and reflect. These groups evolved through the member’s own needs - they set the agenda - but would always include a relaxation session to enable clearer thinking and motivational discussions to empower and raise self- confidence.
I discovered The Human Givens approach and used it widely in my work, with great success.
I now also see clients privately in my home in Caterham, Surrey. (I can offer home-visits within a reasonable distance by arrangement).
I truly believe that everyone has the capacity to make changes and reach their full potential, whatever their current difficulties are.
I have an enhanced DBS disclosure and full professional insurance.
